for the most part your game works, I think that it would be helpful to have some dodging or defensiveness options, like ducking comes to mind, I was able to run the first for bords without to mutch diffica;ty but then the lack of mobilitly started to catch up. without changing the games control i think you could add a frame of hit stun on both heroes and monsters to make up for the lack of dodging the monotone art was interesting. and i think music and SFX would help sell the atmosphere some, give us some idea who we are in the neritive and how we feel. thank you have a good day.

OVERHUNK responds:

Dfeyder, thanks for the tips! This is my first game, I have received many tips and I hope they put all (or most of them) in my next game. Thanks again!

I don't know anything about the angry birds game/ movie/ cartoon so I really don't get some of the refrancees but I have played a lot of video-games. this game is short and to the point but i think you might binifet from some re-playability, add a second wave and make your point counter into a upgrade counter, i think if you made the guns unlockebles that would drive pleple to spend some more time with your game. give it a thought and let me know how you feel about it.

UltimoGames responds:

thats nice and all, but can you reach the top score of 3188 points in this game?

there was a game at one time called Kid Kemelon where you would run around picking up hats. with each hat your skills changed so i know that this type of game play works. i think the biggest problem i am seeing in the game at this time is that the controls are not stream lined. now if you where to say mack left and right arrows your movie command and then A jump S run adn D action command i think i it would make your game easier to understand and more expressible to all players. then maybe add a point systum adn i life counter would make this look more like a 8-16 bit game.

Hattukettu responds:

Yes, on next demo i will streamline the controls, and make it probably possible to change to your liking :), there is a simple life bar allready, i will add life's, and ability to take your last hat to the next level, etc, this demo is just to make the concept bublic! I really think this is going to stay in a 8-16bi void, lets call it 10bit, that really would be glitchy!

I spent a little over half an hour playing this, I found myself doing the first two stages over and over again to try to upgrade. I found that the text was hard to read most of the time and i had some trouble with the wepoin set up it is not internally clear how you switch guns mid battle. ultimately your game runs well and i would like to see what happens next. im going to play a bit longer and see if i can come to understand your game better. thank you and have a good day.

shotfrost responds:

Thanks!
With the switch there is an instruction in the game. Or you can just press Q/E to see current available weapons and press number 1/2/3/4/5 in according to its position to chose the weapon.
The system is a little bit hard to get use to at first but I think it is not too difficult to master.

you're not wrong, it is pong. i like the BGM you used but i think that a title card might be in order same with some SEF you could turn on and off. maybe a speed setting to start the game also. think about it and let me know how you feel about these ideas.

610Games responds:

Sounds good, that stuff you said will probably help me out. If I'm gonna work on this any longer, I'll probably re-code it because the whole thing is coded in the timeline, so I want practice using .as files.

i cant say i liked this one. the first thing that got to me as i played this was the lack of SE and BGM, if this game had a simple sound track to go with it i feel that would add a lot to the game. this looks like something the Atari 2600 might have had in it's lineup, if that is the feel you are looking for a point counter would be cool and a life counter. if you have played pitfall 2 on the 2600 i think you know what i am leaning at. the thing i found the hardest in this is that the scope of your vision has more horizontal range then vertical but seeing you can jump over the screen maybe that played a factor at some point. maybe you could tighten the POV and the controls some but i don't know about that.
it seems that there is some time and energy in this so i hate to cut into it so deep so i think i will have to cut myself short on this. I like what you have done and i think you could do a lot with this if you build on top of it. I think i played a skydiving SIM at one point called DOA so i have seen this type of game play, it is really fun once it is pallished up but that is a hard road to walk i bet. keep it up, work hard and thank you for your time.

kcazingy responds:

I have every intention to revamp this game a bit with better animation a sountrack and even a more variety of obstacle and level backgrounds. I cant say this one is coming out anytime soon but I will upload it when its done.

I think i know the game Igotnolife is thinking of, i was "You Will Loose" i got a link to if from Markiplier's web sight. as for this game i love the political stuff, Edward Snowden is a heroic figure i feel and this is a fun game over all, I think that the art style could be worked up some but you have tight controls and your music works for me. out side asterisks i see nothing about this game that up to par or better. i got walled on level 8 for some time but every time i fell i felt like it was my falt and that is good, thank you and have a good day.

snakep responds:

Hi,

thanks for the feedback.
Glad you like the story.

Normaly my games are easy to play and quite fair. I wanted to make something else this time.

cheers
J

well, I am intrigued by your art and pics, all the modals you have are interesting but there is a lack of playability to this. once your Anthro-Snorlax shows up it seems she should attack you in some way and maybe there should be a chase of some sort. this could be a 'Run-or-Rape game i think if you wanted it to be, maybe you are this man in search of a goddess and this demon shows up to crush / capture / breed with and only by running jumping and sledding can you find god, i can see all types of ways to make this game more attractive if you like. I think there was a game made by Toon Pimp called Craxsalvania that work like that, look into it and see what you think. thank you and have a good day.

blow it out your ass

so after about five or so minutes of walking around in a blank aria i came to your first boss, the animation had some glitches in it where the walk cycle lost a hand full of frames, there seemed to be some text that started to scroll but on my 17' screen is was impossible for me to read. at first i thought the block botton didn't work but after some experimenting i found that you need to be standing still to use it and you need to tape down first, the last thing i saw that looked funny is if you hold down and left you start to slide along the ground, that is fun.
it seems you have a good start hear and i had some fun as i have been working on this review i have played the first stage four or five time so even with the bugs it is good thank you and have a good day.

tareq8193 responds:

It is not five minutes but 2.9 sec. Ya I see it sliding when you run and same time you sit. But if you sit and then run it doesn't happen....Thanks, I didn't notice that way let me fix it.

I've fix the stage dimension and the problem that you said, "Slide along the ground", have also fixed in the original file. But here on newgrounds it shows the same damn problem but on Kongregate it is not the same, they have replaced the older one into new one. what you have here is a simple puzzle game, around level 9 it starts to get a little complex and that is cool, i like your cat character and this reminds me a little of the game Sushi Cat which i love. all and all you have a strong game hear. i imagine that on something like the Android store if you sold this for $0.99 it would bring in a few dollars. in the time i played i didn't notice in real issues with the gameplay and that is cool so is the interactive objects. thank you keep it up.

myplayyard responds:

Thank you :)
