holyhell 50 FPS games! I'm and RPG fag and a big time player of drama horror adventure games. out of this how list I only was able to pull 16 faces out of the crowed. i saw no Silent Hill, no Bio Hazard, Breath of Fire is no where to be seen, no maskcat games out side of Duke Nukim and Crash. i see what you where trying to do but this game was clearly not mint for generation NES.

i'm sorry, i see what you where aiming for don't you think that this would have worked out better as a matching game? think about it, start by giving us a list of all the games you are going to show off and then give us a screen cap and maybe drag and drop the reply. give it a spin and see what you think. just by the time most of these game came out i was half way through my theology studies and i didn't play them. buy then i was spending most of my time here playing flash game.

but i did like Bayoneta, dead space, bio shock, and Alic.

i don't know why this game is getting such low scores, i sat and played this for a good few minuets, the animation is solid, the hit detention is pretty sharp, i think a more comprehensive combat engine could have helped but for a runner game it works, (the ninjas a treated like road blocks not people) maybe you could make this into a fighting game, you know like in the ilk of "Carnage" "Death and Return" or "Double Dragon NES" all and all this is a playable game which is more then i can say for some. so yep this is a three star game, with some more option and locations to play with or a coherent story ark it could be more. thank you for your work on this game and i hope to see more soon.

for being social cometary this is a lot of fun, i think you are right and Snowden is a hero.

I have to go against sonicsteel on this. yes the game is simplistic, yes I have played these before, and no i don't care for the games concept but i think you did do something to improve on the mechanics, you see more often the not in this style of game your mouse becomes your avatar you on the other hand left your mouse and avatar as two objects on screen what this did is create a "Hit Box" which is something almost exclusive to "J-shooters" and "SMUP's", this is a grate way to give your player some grace and re-enforce what you can and cant do. so when you touch the wall in doesn't rest at once it gives you a handful of pixels to menover around. you didn't take full advantage of it but you might not have even noticed what you did so lets not dillydally on that. I would have liked some more songs and maybe a fanfare when you finish a stage or pick up an object but i wont push anything. you have a fair game right out the gate here.

I love the art in this games. you are clearly talented. as a long time artist and gamer myself i think your off to a strong start with this. the mapping of the movements feels off on the other hand, i think the quick fix to this might just be to move the swim key so it is no longer over the left key maybe have the controls be A=left D=right and SPACE, UP, or K=swim much more like an NES game setup. what do you think?

he has a good point i feel, about half way into the game i found that it is not hard to spec your stats in a way that makes it nearly impossible to loose the game, but for what it is i think this is close to a perfect game. maybe a hard mode with some more obstetrical could be fun for older gamers but I don't think that is what you had in mind. so i think the only thing i can say at this point is... thank you, and good work.

well, for the most part I think you have a good game, there seems to be a killer problem in aria two where is you fall the game doesn't end so much as just stop. maybe you can add a self destruct command . i don't know. and there seems to be nothing after that. it looks like your in an early stage of development so ill just say good work. keep it coming.

so i think i can see what you were doing, you were remaking resident evil in a 16-bit format. it looks like you kept some of the OC but overlaid it with the Metrod engine. there seems to be some mechanical problems. such as there seems to be no restart option, and the tool switch is unresponsive. on my first play-though i beet the game but it looks like there is an alternate path with should result in picking up the 'spread gun' i think. if i were to make a recommendation: maybe drop the map-paintings in the background in favor of larger rooms with more platforming, maybe ad an aim feature like in 'contra' and if you like the 'Metrod' feel run with it, make the game faster and scroll, maybe lower enemy hp but up encounter rate, maybe even add birds that spawn or re-spawn after x amount of time in a room. some more ambient noise could be fun to. what do you think?

Ok so this game is strangle fun, it seems that the character you play as is the only thing that seems to change the game-play, that being the case I think it might be a good idea to add a description of the characters play-style. maybe so more sound options that is all i have to say.

Xanadu32 responds:

There kinda is that option already. youll eventually unlock a stats card that will tell you how each one plays. And im not sure what you mean by sound options... theres already volume control, song selections, song skipping and sound muting quick keys. I cant think of any other features X3

Ok so your game has good control and that counts for a lot, your music is fair I would say that the only thing i might take a look at is the games color plaits and the platform clipping (this might be related problems) the game seems unclear form time to time as to where the platforms are and if you crawl over to a ledge it triggers a jump loop on the cloud stage. as the stages get darker the hit-boxes of the monsters gets foggy also. if you change the colors so that the platforms are significantly darker or liter then the space around them it would make the game more user friendly i feel, i think it was the second sky stage you did this really well where the backround was blue and the platforms red. i loved it. also a death animation or victory jingle could be fun.
